easyJet Case Study
We were producing cockpit manuals for GB Airways who ran a fleet of Airbus under the British Airways livery prior to being bought out by easyJet. In our continued discussions with the client on how we could improve our service / product they advised of the need to produce 'MSN Specific' manuals from the hard copies we delivered in. This entailed physically removing pages from the printed copy that did not relate to the aircraft it was destined for.
In partnership with our software development partner, XCD Software, we developed a programme that reads the PDF supplied by GB Airways and electronically creates an MSN specific PDF for each aircraft within their fleet. After a six month testing with GB Airways they moved across to our software for the creation of MSN specific manuals. In doing so they not only saved man hours manually stripping out manuals but the page counts on all cockpit manuals were reduced by a minimum of 30% and in some cases by over 50%, saving money on print costs.
GB Airways were bought out by easyJet who requested we develop the system further by electronically creating MSN specific 'List of Effective Pages' that sit at the front of each MSN specific manual. This means that any page amended from the previous revision and relevant to the aircraft the manual is on is listed making the information easier and clearer for the pilot to refer to.
